Writer Emma Levez Larocque has been writing a wide variety of articles and books professionally for the past 10 years.
Emma has experience as a journalist, having worked for the Timmins Daily Press in Ontario, Northern News Services in Yellowknife, NWT, and the Peak newspaper in Powell River, BC. She has also freelanced articles and photographs to a number of other Canadian newspapers and magazines, such as the Vancouver Sun, the Edmonton Journal, Up Here magazine and Beautiful BC Magazine.
Books include People of the White City: Stories from the Powell River Mill, a social history book about the people who have worked at the Powell River mill over the past 100 years. For this book more than 200 interviews with local retirees and workers were conducted. Many Voices: Music and the Arts in Powell River (co-written) was Emma's second book. It is about the history of music and the arts in Powell River. Books in the Off the Beaten Path series are her most current publications, including Discovering Powell River and the Upper Sunshine Coast and Discovering the Campbell River Area. The Off the Beaten Path series consists of coffee-table books that feature the treasures of their respective areas.
